Threading 101

OK, me and Mom got our eyebrows threaded for the 1st time yesterday. We were having a girl's day treating ourselves to pedicures and manicures so our eyebrows HAD to get dealt with. I made a suggestion to try threading b/c I've looked at the process on YT and I really wanted to try it. Here's a pic of my mom before the process began:

So naturally she went first......lol. Just kidding. I just had her go first so I can see the outcome of her brows then I was gonna go ahead and give it a shot. I recorded the whole ordeal showing how everything looks. I tried to upload it here, but blogger was trippin. Here's the outcome:


Nice huh? Seeing these results I had to go ahead and give it a hot. So I got in the chair and tried to to prepare myself for the inevitable. I was told that it feels like getting them plucked so I was ok about that. MAN, whoever said that BS was smokin! LMAO!! OMG ya'll that shit (you know it was serious if I'm cursin right now, lol) was painful. Every swipe she did, all I could say was Sssshhhh******tttttttt...lmao! Not to mention there were 2 other ladies waiting for their turn and talking to my mom and cracking jokes the whole time and I was trying to hard NOT to laugh, so with me doing that....I had tears rolling down my eyes. One of the ladies was like "Aww, don't cry". The eyebrow lady stopped for a sec and right when she did that I just let the laughter out that I was holding in so bad. I must say, even though this crap hurts, I'm gonna stick with it. The final look I had after wards is just beautiful. And threading last longer than getting your brows waxed or shaped by a razor. I didn't take before pics b/c honestly I didn't think about doing an entry on this until after the fact....lol. The threading method is supposed to last about a month or so. Anyway, that's enough for today. BTW, in case you were wondering or haven't figured it out yet.....M.A.C. passed on me. I'm not upset about it though. I get to work on my makeup skills and in about another 6 months or so, I might re apply.

Ok, as you can tell....I love the color purple...lol. I'm so serous. Ya'll should see how many shades of purple I have in my makeup case. I mean purple is the color of royalty....sooooo that's means me, LOL. On the eyes I used the "Outspoken" mineralized eyeshadow trio from M.A.C. of course. I'm really liking it. Today I went to my oldest's son school for the Thanksgiving dinner they were having so I wanted to look somewhat presentable. The food was ok, but I can't wait until thursday. So I had an interview with the State agency yesterday, so I pulled out the big guns. Well, not really.....but I went in there with a mentality like I wanted the job, or should I say the job wanted me. I was too cute!!! I even bought a wig ya'll! LOL I was so scared to put it on, but I had my mom with me and she helped pick it out since I was clueless on WHERE to begin. Anyway:

Hey! I was inspired to do a look this morning that I saw done by one of my FAVORITE you tubers named Ateya. My GOD, she can bang out some looks that make your jaw just DROP. Yeah, I know, I featured her as my You Tuber of the week, but babygirl is gorgeous. She makes me wanna get down to a size 8 just to be close to her level of hawtness.....lmao! Ok, I know that's a tad bit extreme considering that 1. I am NOT about to kill myself to get that small and 2. All I want to be is a 9/10 anyway and I'm trying to get there by February.....lol. Rant Mode: YT

Hey ya'll, this is no beauty post today, just a random rant on me trying to upload on YT. It WILL NOT WORK! I just don't know what to do anymore. I've tried modifying the file making it smaller and since the last vid I uploaded...nothing's been going on. I'm slightly irritated at the fact that I see everyone's vids uploading everyday. Like my good YT NC50 brother Cullgan, he can upload like and 4 vids at a time and all of his go through. Like I have so much to say and express and I can't get them onto YT b/c YT has some issues. I just have vids sitting on my camera and my PC just waisting away...lol. What am I doing wrong? Can someone PLEASE tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Review : Clinique 3-Step

Hey addicts!! I probably need to stop calling ya'll that....lol! Anyway, I just wanted to share a lil something with you guys on what I use to keep this skin of mine looking halfway healthy...lol I know you all heard or seen folks using the Clinique 3-Step skincare process by now and heard both negative and positive reviews. Well, I'm sorry to say, I have nothing negative to say about this product. I've been using this for about a month now and I've seen my face change dramatcally. Before I started using this I was having breakouts like crazy and afterwards virtually NO breakouts. I mean I've got a pimple or 2 now but that's b/c of stress thanks to school....lol. I have a paper and power point presentation due in like 3 or 4 weeks so I'm kinda freakin out right now.

Anyway....just an FYI, these can be conformed to your skin "type". I'm a type 2 so I am of a "dry combination" skin. mean I have some dry spots but my t-zone is of course SHINY meaning it's a tad bit oily. You can check out the website and answer a few questions about you and your skin type and at the end it'll tell you what skin type you are. Too confused to do that and want to talk to a rep directly? OK, go to your local department store (Macy's, Nordstroms, Dillard's, etc.) and speak with someone at the actual Clinique counter and they'll help you out. Better yet, hit up Ms. Buttahfly and ask her what's she thinks. She's a rep for Clinique now so she's the best person to ask if you want to talk to someone but not go to a counter. She's very nice and would love to help if she can. Hope this helps!!!

Sure I have lash blast, colossal lashes, and even the lil trial version of Clinique's mascara and I love all of them. HOWEVER, this lil bottle of mascara have purchased and permanately earned a place in my makeup traincase and in my heart.....lol.I'm so glad I bought this as a "what the hell? why not" vibe...LMAO!!!

Offical M.A.C. MA????

Hey everyone!!!! Man, a LOT of things have changed since the last time I blogged.....lol. We have a NEW freakin president...yeaaaaaaaa! I Baracked the vote and FINALLY my vote meant something! The person I voted for WON!!! Oh that feels so good to know that I can make a difference in this world, ya know? Anyway, I just had to get that off my mind...lol. This entry is basically a blog but stay put b/c I'll have my FOTD at the end as always.

I was on my way to class, but I had to go to my local M.A.C. store to exchange something that I had bought online. I bought the blot powder but they sent me medium instead of dark. Now anyone who isn't familiar with M.A.C. or their products would be like ok......what's the deal? Let me break it down to ya this way. A "medium" tone powder on me would make look like I was hit with a bag of all purpose flour and the tone I needed, dark, would further help me look like the sexy mocha DIVA that I am already, just w/o the shiny ass face effect where I'm walking around all day lookin like a fresh glazed kripsy kream.....lol. It's early and I'm hungry ya'll so forgive me for that last comment, lol. Ok, now when I went in the MA got the product I asked for and so on and so forth. He went to ask me the question they ask all their customers "if I shopped here before?". of course I replied "yea, I have, I'm always here...lol. Whether it's online or here physically, I'm here.". We both shared a small laugh, well he comes out to ask if I do makeup personally and of course I don't so to speak. I've only done 3 other faces before and 2 of those faces I was a nervous wreck doing them. Oh ya'll I was shaky and sweating like I was lying in a federal court ya'll. The faces came out fab but GOD. I was so damn scared, lol. So I said I've done other folks before but I don't do it professionally. Well, I just happened to ask if they were hiring and he just lit up, lol. I mean I am a college student and I have 3 kids at home to take care of. Sure, living of my student loans are great, but I need that lil extra b/c one day I WILL have the pay them suckas off. He gave me an app. and said they were doing interviews all this week and next week so hurry and fill it out and see what happens. After that I said thank you and hit the door and went on my way to class. Well, hit up Taco Bell since I had a taste for it then went to class, lol. I had about 30 minutes to burn and a Diva was HUNGRY...lol.

Now Ya'll, I'm not gonna lie. I was like wtf did I just do??? Not saying I was intimidated, but I've seen those MA's before and they are bad ass when it comes to their makeup....even the guys like they one I talked to yesterday. He was so freakin pretty!!! LOL. I guess what I did was just stepped out the box and asked. I mean if he didn't want me there, all he had to say was no we're not hiring, right? Anyway, I need a job and I love that store and besides, since I've been going there I've never seen anyone that looks like me. Ya know? I mean no one of the Brown folks club. I know an MA at the Macy's I go to that was down the street from my old job, but not at the local store.

Anyway, just pray for me ya'll. I need a job b/c besides school, that's the ONLY thing besides my kids I look forward to everyday....and that's like a once a week class, lol. Here's the LOTD:
